With the majestic Rocky Mountains right at its doorstep, Denver is well known for its outdoorsy vibe. Whether you’re looking to go on a hike for hours deep in the forest or spend a relaxing afternoon kayaking on the Upper Colorado River, you’ll find what you’re looking for in this exciting city. But Denver offers much more than just outdoor attractions — it has a vibrant and dynamic culture as well as a thriving music scene. Did you know that One Republic, the Fray, and the Lumineers are all from Denver? The city is also home to many chef-owned restaurants and small food businesses, most of which pride themselves on using locally-sourced ingredients. If you’re a foodie, you’ll get a lot out of your visit here! But no matter what you’re into, we’re certain that you’ll find a perfect setting for your proposal in the Mile High City. Start by checking out some of our favorite places to pop the question!

Proposals with a Beautiful View

When you’re surrounded by stunning mountains, it’s hard to find a place that doesn’t have a beautiful view! Nonetheless, these spots are known for their scenery.

City Park

City Park is a real urban oasis with plenty of spots to pop the question. It’s right in the center of Denver, offering 330 acres of gardens, lakes, paths, and open space. This park also has surprisingly beautiful views, especially at the east end. The Denver Museum of Nature and Science sits at the highest elevation in the park, so head near there for one of the most famous views in the city: you’ll see the skyscrapers of downtown clearly outlined in front of the towering Rocky Mountains behind them. Share a picnic on the grass with your significant other, head down to Ferril Lake and rent a paddleboat together, or enjoy lunch at the park’s beloved 1950s-style diner before proposing in front of the pavilion.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Park

Located just 15 miles from downtown Denver, Red Rocks Amphitheater is an absolutely breathtaking spot for a proposal. Because of its stunning architecture and incredible views, this place consistently ranks among the best amphitheater’s and concert venues in the world. The famous, distinctive red rocks of this area stand tall alongside the stands, and the vast Colorado landscape stretches out for miles in front of you. If you and your significant other love hiking or just walking in nature, Red Rocks Park has multiple trails that you can explore together before ending at the amphitheater. Proposing here would be perfect at any time of day, but it would be especially magical at sunset — you’ll be surrounded by brilliant colors as you propose in the warm light of golden hour.

Classic City Proposals

Embrace Denver’s thriving city culture by proposing in the heart of the city! Here are some of our favorite downtown spots.

Larimer Square

The oldest and most historic city block in Denver is known for its cute shops, romantic restaurants, and vibrant culture. It’s right in the heart of the city, and you’ll notice its lively character as soon as you arrive. A canopy of twinkling lights above the square creates a romantic feel, while the frequent live music performances make the atmosphere fun and relaxed as well. Take your time exploring all of the little stores, each of which offers something truly one-of-a-kind: contemporary home decor, a high-end store for dogs, handmade hats, vintage records, and locally-made jewelry are just a few of the things you’ll find in Larimer Square. After checking out everything the block has to offer, enjoy a romantic dinner at Bistro Vendome. The Parisian-inspired restaurant is tucked away from the busy street and delivers an exceptional dining experience in a cozy setting. Propose in the quiet courtyard with the building’s gorgeous brick arches in the background for a picture-perfect moment.

Wynkoop Bridge

Another great proposal spot in downtown Denver is the Wynkoop Bridge. Once a functioning railroad bridge, it has since been repurposed as a pedestrian walkway on the Cherry Creek Trail. The structure delivers a uniquely urban yet romantic vibe that comes through beautifully in photos. At sunset, the creek below shines golden and the bridge’s majestic beams stand sharply against the bright sky. Since this is generally a quiet place, you’ll be able to have the moment completely to yourselves. Head to one of the many nearby restaurants to share a delicious dinner together after you propose.

Intimate Proposals

If you want your proposal to feel like you and your partner are the only people in the room, check out these proposal locations.

Horse-Drawn Carraige on 16th Street Mall

What could be more romantic than a private horse-drawn carriage ride through downtown Denver on a cold winter evening? Snuggle under blankets with your significant other as you watch the lights of bright lampposts and cute shops go by. During the holiday season, you’ll be able to see the Parade of Lights floats and the city’s festive Mile High Tree. Some of the companies that offer carriage rides have proposal packages to make your special moment even more memorable, and you can always just let the driver know that you plan to pop the question. They’d be happy to snap a photo or help in any way they can to make the moment perfect. After proposing, share dinner with your significant other at the 16th Street Mall. This mile-long promenade is lined with a variety of fantastic restaurants, and you’ll have plenty of options to choose from to complete your romantic evening.

Daniels and Fisher Clock Tower

If you’re looking to make your proposal into an especially romantic occasion, the Daniels and Fisher Clock Tower is the perfect place to pop the question. Their special “Romantic Evening” rental includes a candlelit dinner for two, champagne, chocolates, and their signature rose petal trail. They’ll play music of your choice during the night, so if there’s a song that’s particularly special to the two of you, you can get down on one knee as it begins to play. Make sure to bring a camera so the Clock Tower staff can capture the moment.

Out and About Proposals

Does your partner love a good nature walk? Then this venue is the one for you.

Denver Botanic Gardens

The Denver Botanic Gardens would be a beautiful proposal spot at any time of the year, but each season definitely has its own special charm. In the warmer months, experience the 24 acres of beautiful flowers and plants in full bloom. Every garden and collection here is unique, and you have plenty of them to choose from when you’re deciding on the perfect spot to pop the question. One particularly fitting location is the Romantic Gardens — it’s designed to look more formal and feel more private than the others. One area within it, the Fragrance Garden, has a paved path and raised beds of especially fragrant flowers. In the winter, the gardens’ Blossoms of Light display is truly magical. The gardens are transformed into a dazzling explosion of light and color, creating a special atmosphere and gorgeous backdrop for a proposal.
